This journal explores the IT governance model or methods at Alcan. The document is based on the perspective of Robert Ouellette, hired as the Vice-President of CIT at Alcan. This journal is a continuation of the previously discussed document. It explains the transformation of Alcan’s decentralized IT organizational structure to a more standardized and centralized structure. The article discusses changes that Robert made to the organization’s IT governance model and their impact. New models are clearly highlighted with emphasis on Alcan’s objectives. Moreover, it briefly touches on the disadvantages and challenges the earlier decentralized model posed to the company’s success. The document concludes with methods on how best to sustain the newly developed IT strategies.

My research involves identifying the dominant IT strategies and practices developed at Alcan. The document is crucial in my research as it provides the actual strategies applied to develop the new IT governance model.
