Organizational behavior: integrating individuals, groups and organizations.
The article is relevant to organization behavior as it helps to identify how individual persons or groups can be integrated within the organization to create an organizational culture that can improve performance.
The article outlines the historical context of the modern organization behavior. Secondly it outlines individuals, perceptions, motivations, socializations and individual intrinsic rewards within the organization. It also outlines how the organizational process takes place in an organization, and how the organization can be designed or developed in case of any changes that have taken place.
The article does outline the context in which the modern organizations are built, which includes factors like technology, diversity and technology. It also gives out the ethical and expected behaviors within the organization. Lastly the article describes and provides the expected culture which forms the basis of organization culture which embraces a number of activities, behaviors inside and within the organization.
The individuals processes involved in the organization involve an outlook of how employees perceive their attitude and personality, how they socialize, other motivational theories that support their activities. Motivation can be classified according to cognitive and behavioral techniques and processes. The work set up should be able to integrate the intrinsic rewards and job designs which will create a positive end result to both the organization and the employee.
Organizational design and change is important factor to consider in the organization. The structure within the organization operates influence the communication, allocation of resources, and decision makings. Organizations should establish the mode and structures that need to be followed within and outside the organization. Ways should be established that will help in managing changes that occur during the development process. The way change is integrated in the process is important.
