INTRODUCTION OF THE STUDY

The Work Life Balance was first originated in 1986. It does not mean equal balance but it is trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of your various work and personal activities. The right balance for individual today probably be different for individuals tomorrow. Thus, cores of effective work life balance’s definition are of two key concepts i.e. daily achievement and enjoyment.Work Life Balance can be achieved when an individual’s right to be fulfilled life inside and outside paid work is accepted and respected as the norm, to the mutual benefit of the individual, business and society.The demand for work-life–balance solutions is by employees and managers are expanding at an exceptional rate. As a result, today work-life-balance is an increasingly hot topic in boardrooms and government halls.

CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES

Chemicals Industry in India is one of the fastest growing industries under the Indian Economy. At the same time it is also one of the oldest domestic industries of India which started working soon after India’s Independence in 1947. From those early years, the chemical industry in India continued to contribute to the Economic Growth of Indian Economy. At present, the industry accounts for almost 13% of Indian GDP.The chemical industry comprises the companies which producing industrial chemicals. From central to the modern world economy, it converts raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, etc.) into more than 70,000 different products.The Indian chemical industry can deliver on an accelerated growth phase, provided a clearly defined vision along with a strategic roadmap is developed to enable it. If this is not done, the Indian Government may see the growing market increasingly being served through manufacturing done outside India. The various segments of the chemical industry (such as organic chemicals, specialty chemicals, etc.) have their own unique set of challenges. The industry can grow only if these individuals segments overcome their challenges and move swiftly along the growth path. the industry and government will have to work in tandem to achieve the ambitious targets set for the chemical industry.

The issues for work-life balance was began in the year 1980s, as more number of employees entered the workplace and is focuses on helping employees to balance their work and family responsibilities by offering family – friendly benefits.These practices are now focused at work-life balance, which is a more encircling term that reflects the desire of each and every employee for more flexibility in their work to manage the competing demands of work and their personal life.Work-life-balance concept supports the efforts of employees to make difference with their time and energy between their work and the other important aspects of their lives. Work-life-balance is an effort to make time for each and every social, functional, cultural and personal activity, in addition to the demands of the workplace. Work-life balance is controlled by employers who institutes policies, procedures, actions and expectations that enable employees to easily pursue more balanced lives.The work-life-balance reduces the employee’s stress experience. When they spends majority of their time on work-related activities and they feels, that they are not able to look after the other important components of their lives, which leads to stress and unhappiness.Work-life-balance is challenging as it helps many employees to experience a personal, professional and monetary need to be achieve. Chembond started with the manufacture of Metal Pretreatment Chemicals at Todi Industrial Estate in Bombay. Subsequently, a plot of 1800 sq. mtrs was acquired at MIDC Tarapur Industrial Area where the present factory of the company was constructed in 1979.In 1983, Chembond diversified into the manufacture of Cooling Water Treatment Chemicals. LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

The researcher is fresher, so there may be some mistakes while collecting the data.The tool being Questionnaire; there should be chances that the personal biases of the respondents may come into picture while answering to the questions.The research studies the opinions of the employees through a Questionnaire; therefore there is an element of subjectivity present in the study.Time may be a constraint.

CONCLUSION

We undertook the project at the “CHEMBOND CHEMICAL LTD” for the topic of “WORK LIFE BALANCE OF EMPLOYEES” at work place. We found that the various programs undertaken related to manage the work life of an employee by the superiors are very effective in the company. The careful analysis of available data shows that the work life balance policies in CHEMBOND CHEMICALS LTD are more effective or less same with standard work life balance policies.
